鹿野山神野寺 Kanozan Jinyaji Temple
Founded approximately 1400 years ago by Prince Shotoku, Kanozan Jinyaji Temple is one of the prominent ancient temples in the Kanto Region. The temple grounds are home to the giant mulberry, a natural monument. The temple gate is also a nationally designated important cultural property. You will also find historical treasures including works such as Niome by Unkei and Hakuja by Hidarijinngoro, famous carpenters from the Edo Period. The temple is a popular location for viewing spring flowers and fall colors, as well as a popular spot for Hatsumode, the first temple visit of the new year. Visitors are also recommend to visit the nearby viewing platform which offers expansive views of the Kujukuri Valley.
